How can our church grow? What’s the key? What do we need to do to grow our church? Well, first let’s define what we mean by church growth. Actually, what we don’t mean. Church growth is not recruiting Christians from other churches. If we take 25 people from Cherry Hills, our church has not grown. We’ve gained nothing for the Kingdom. Church growth is reaching the lost. As Jesus said, “making disciples” out of those who are not.

Now that we’re on the same wavelength, what is the key to reaching the lost? I believe there isn’t just one key. There’s not a single solution to reaching the lost and growing our church - rather, there are many pieces that must work together for success to be achieved. The first major piece of the puzzle is for each one of us to become passionate about our faith. We must see our faith as more than merely a religion, and more even than a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Christianity is not merely a personal belief system to be kept in your private affairs and “practiced” on Sundays. Rather, we believe it is Truth, Truth that applies to every part of life from your job to the way you raise your kids to how you live when nobody else is looking. The first, and perhaps most important, aspect of church growth is for church members to be passionately living out our faith. Remember the message Reg preached not long ago? When we allow our lives to be affected by God, and we are passionately living our faith, the unsaved will notice and ask us what’s up.

Once we’ve reached the point where we are passionately living our faith, what’s next? Find out in part 2!
